United Offshore Support selects Barrier to secure its fleet of vessels against cyberattacks

Until recently, when business leaders thought about cybercrime, their worries centred on financial and data losses. Cyber was seen mainly as a digital threat. And while that perspective remains valid, the aftermath of cyberattacks now transcends the digital realm. In fact, cybercrime has breached its digital boundaries, and today we witness attacks affecting society at large, reshaping the way people physically live their lives.

With the surge in cyber-physical attacks, organisations are enhancing defences of, not just their IT estate, but also their digitally connected Operational Technology. Organisations are encountering an increase in cyber attacks due to the connectivity of OT with the internet, driven by cost savings and efficiency gains. However, this connectivity boost also elevates cyber risk unless security measures are implemented.

"I’m a happy customer, and I’m a repeat customer, so that says it all, really. I would never hesitate to recommend Barrier as they have the experience and expertise to keep their customers safe and secure, which, let’s be honest, is getting more critical by the day in the cyber world."

Deployed a blend of solutions, including Cisco Meraki firewalls and switches in both the IT and OT environments. These augment their network security with intelligent threat detection.

Integrating Cisco Umbrella strengthens UOS’s protection by pre-emptively blocking connections to malicious sites. Everything easily integrates with existing systems, and because Cisco Umbrella is easy to deploy, there are no added workloads or friction for users.

Barrier managed the security project in conjunction with UOS staff, making sure our solutions blended seamlessly into UOS’s standard operations.
